This is the primary shutoff for the entire house — closing this stops water everywhere. This is the one to remember in an emergency.
Flipping the main breaker cuts power to the entire house. Individual circuit breakers below it are labeled for single rooms.
Closing this stops gas to the entire house — the furnace, water heater, and any gas appliances. If you smell gas, shut this off and call the gas company from outside.

Replaced the original galvanized supply line running from the street shutoff to the house with 1" PEX A piping inside PVC piping , resolving low water pressure. A new water filter was install to keep the settlement from the pipes.
