Main Water Shutoff

The primary shutoff for the entire house — closing this stops water everywhere. This is the one to remember in an emergency.
Main Electrical Panel & Breaker
⏻ Flip OffGarage, interior wall by the side door — main breaker at the top of the panel
Flipping the main breaker cuts power to the entire house. Individual circuit breakers below it are labeled for single rooms.

Main Gas Shutoff

Closing this stops gas to the entire house — the furnace, water heater, and any gas appliances. If you smell gas, shut this off and call the gas company from outside.

Street / Curb Water Shutoff

City-owned secondary shutoff — controls water to the whole property before it even reaches the house. Only use if the indoor main is inaccessible.
