What permanent really means

Your content lives on a decentralized network and your link resolves through a permanent ID that doesn't depend on Heritage Anchor. Even if we ever stopped operating, your archive would keep working.

It can't be altered.

Once something is preserved, it's permanent — not by us, not by anyone. What you entrust to the archive stays exactly as it was given, for as long as the network exists.

It can grow.

While Heritage Anchor is operating, new photos, videos, and memories can be added and reorganized over time. Everything already preserved remains permanent; additions simply extend it.

Open the archive with a tap or scan. It works in a web browser, so there's no app to install, no account to create, and no password standing between your family and their memories.

Your photos, videos, voice recordings, and documents are stored on Arweave — a permanent, decentralized storage network sustained by an endowment model, not by any single company keeping a server online.

Linked by a permanent ID

Your piece links to the archive through a permanent address that never changes and resolves independently of any domain we own. Tap the plaque, and the network hands you the archive.

Organized by an index you can update

An index page connects to each preserved item, so photos and videos can be added and rearranged over time — while every item beneath it stays permanent and unchangeable.

What happens if Heritage Anchor closes?
Your archive stays. It's stored on Arweave — a permanent, decentralized storage network — not on our servers, and your piece links to it through a permanent address that doesn't depend on us. Even if Heritage Anchor ever stopped operating, your link would still work and everything already preserved would remain exactly as it was.
What if the plaque is damaged?
Your archive lives on permanent storage, independent of the physical piece. If a plaque is damaged, we can issue a replacement linked to the same archive.
Is there a subscription?
No subscription and no renewal fees. A single payment covers decades of storage when your archive is created — that's the benefit of permanent storage.
Can I add to it later?
Yes. Additional photos, videos, and memories can be added over time, and everything already preserved stays permanent. Some updates may include an additional fee depending on the amount of content being added.
